Alaska Foster Family Protection Act Goes into Effect!

The Alaska Foster Family Protection Act offers youth supported improvements to our current foster care system:

• Helps keep siblings together
• Helps keep rural youth in their home communities
• Helps ensure that OCS continues to find permanent, stable placements for older youth who the department has given up on in the past and stopped trying to find permanent placements
• Helps youth re-enter foster care if needed
